on the corner of 38th and 5th Ave. in Manhattan. I heard him playing while I was walking home from work. He sounded so good, I pulled out my video camera and started shooting. Even after playing since 10am that day, he still sounds great.

The Godfather is a 1972 crime drama film based on the 1969 novel of the same name by Mario Puzo and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, with a screenplay by Puzo, Coppola, and an uncredited Robert Towne.[2] It stars Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Richard S. Castellano, Robert Duvall, Sterling Hayden, John Marley, Richard Conte and Diane Keaton, and features John Cazale and Abe Vigoda. The story spans ten years from 1945 to 1955 and chronicles the Italian-American Corleone crime family.

The Godfather received Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay, and has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. In addition, it is ranked as the second greatest film in American cinematic history, behind Citizen Kane on the AFI’s 100 Years… 100 Movies (10th Anniversary Edition) list by the American Film Institute.[3]

Francis Ford “Frank” Coppola (born April 7, 1939) is a five-time Academy Award-winning American film director, producer and screenwriter. Away from showbusiness, Coppola is also a vintner, magazine publisher and hotelier. He is a graduate of Hofstra University where he studied theatre. He earned an M.F.A. in film directing from the UCLA Film School. He is most renowned for directing the highly regarded Godfather films, The Conversation, and the Vietnam War epic Apocalypse Now. He (along with fellow filmmakers Martin Scorsese & Steven Spielberg) is considered one of the greatest directors of all time.
